The SEAI Heat Pump Grant has been significantly expanded, meaning homeowners can now receive up to €12,500 towards the cost of upgrading to an energy-efficient air-to-water heat pump system.

How much is the SEAI Heat Pump Grant?
Eligible homeowners can now receive a total grant of up to €12,500, made up of:
• €6,500 – Heat pump system grant
• €2,000 – Radiator and heating system upgrades
• €4,000 – Renewable heating bonus
The final grant amount depends on the property, system design, and SEAI eligibility criteria.
Who is Eligible?
Most homeowners are eligible, but eligibility depends on the energy performance of the home, not just the heating system.
Homes Built After 2005–2007
In many cases, homes built after this period:• Do not require a technical assessment
• Can qualify for the grant largely as they are
• Are ideal candidates for heat pump installation
Older Homes
Older properties may require:
• A BER or technical assessment to confirm heat loss levels
• Additional upgrades (such as radiators or insulation) to meet SEAI requirements
A €200 SEAI grant is available towards the cost of a technical assessment where required.
